Did you know that most of the world's most important work gets done through meetings? Think about your meetings: one-on-one over lunch meetings with a colleague or a boss, project team discussions on Zoom, or workshops with large crowds at a professional conference. When people talk to each other, alliances are forged, decisions are made, and great ideas are born.
That's why effective leaders know how to run good meetings, whether in person or online. They gather the right people, create a positive environment for dialogue, welcome diverse ideas, and help attendees to do their best thinking. These are skills you can learn, too, to grow your career and make a difference through your work.
For insights and practices you can use right away, please watch the video tutorial Leading Splendid Meetings, prepared by Andrea Ramage. Andrea is a strategic facilitator working with international NGOs, businesses, and small NGOs and government agencies in her Seattle, USA home. For the past 3 years, she has served the WASH sector by planning and moderating events as well as strategy meetings and board meetings.
At this Q&A session, you can discuss the tutorial video with Andrea and pose your questions. Please send us your questions in advance by sending an email to membership@fsm-alliance.org or using the comment function under the video. Please also note that some training materials are linked in the video description for you to download.
